Answer: From the Greek legend of the Sword of Damocles. Basically, an attendant, Damocles, in the court of the tyrant king Dionysis II of Syracuse, told his ruler that he was fortunate to have such wealth. Dionysis offered Daocles the seat to his throne for a day, to which Damocles accepted. However, Dionysis then stated a sword should be hung by a single horse hair above the throne which Damocles sat. Damocles then begged Dionysis to switch back their places, to which he agreed.
Overall this explained the peril which came from being the ruler, which Damocles was ignorant of.
After that wordy explanation, I should say that I really like the artwork. In part, I think it roughly relates to the original legend, especially withe those elegant feathers round Damocles' neck. Nicely done!
This is so cool, I love the feathers with the wolf. But a quick question, is french or english your first language? Luckily I go to a french school so I understand french. Anyways...um yeah, whats your first?
